Are they serious?

You really do have to wonder at today’s Age. The online version has a link to an opinion piece by some dill telling people that all the hard times are in their imagination (including the now standard jab at Gen x and y), and that they need to ‘Harden Up’. Right next to it is a story about 10 000 forecast job losses in the finance sector, including 5000 at Westpac. To make things worse, the article by the dill recommends that people buy Westpac shares. Sometimes the left hand not only doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, it has no idea whatsoever.

Harden Up
17 November 2008 - 3:26pmNo joke! Honestly I have heard this argument from the boomers so many times I'm no longer surprised. Since the old guard columnists have already decided what they think about every topic and who's to blame and are rehashing the same old garbage without even questioning it anymore, I think it's about time they just outsource their columns to India, where they can cut up the old ones with the old phrases like 'anyone who wants a job can get one', recompile them and fax them to the Age and the Australian, so they can get back to their really important job of indulging themselves and stuffing their investment portfolios and getting rich on the misfortune of others while telling them to 'harden the fuck up'.
